VR and 3D technology along with drone photography and tours are changing the commercial real estate industry as we know it. Years ago, a client’s best way to decide on a property was by viewing the photos and touring the property in person. Today, with virtual reality (VR) and 3D rendering technology, interested buyers or tenants can view properties in 3D online. They can virtually tour the properties themselves, which is more convenient than booking an in-person tour every time they see a property they’re considering. Drone photography and video tours also help clients to get a more detailed look at the exterior of the property as well as the area and nearby businesses, main roads, attractions, population, and more.
According to a Matterport case study, nearly 80 percent of the 1000 buyers and 1000 sellers that were polled, would switch to a real estate agent offering immersive 3D tours of listed properties. Over 55 percent of the potential buyers polled, said that they would buy a property sight-unseen if there was a 3D tour available online. According to Seattle Digital Marketing, real estate listings with video receive 403% more inquiries. From these statistics we can see the demand for online marketing materials and how these materials help to accelerate deals and attract more interested parties.
